Admission Policies
ACS can only be as good as the prevailing attitudes of the students, parents, and staff. Therefore, every prospective family is interviewed by the principal to determine attitudes, aspirations, and acceptability. It must be understood that the purpose of this school ministry is to train Christian children in God’s word and ways.
In order to be considered for admission, every student must be able to meet the minimum standards outlined below.
Pre-K/ Kindergarten
We accept children age 4 by December 31 of the current year for Pre-K and age 5 by December 31 for Kindergarten. In addition to the age requirement, the child will be tested orally to determine their ability to function in the class.
Elementary (Grades1-6)
Qualifications for admission at this age focus on the relationship of the child to their parents and the parents’ relationship to God.
Jr. High & High School
Qualifications for admission at this age focus on the relationship of the teenager to God. We understand that by this age, most young people have established their attitude about life. Parents may have a totally different outlook on life or set of morals. Because we deal primarily with the student as far as motivation goes, it is mandatory that the student wants to attend our school and has the right attitude about fitting into our system. Therefore, we have special qualifications for teenagers to enroll in our school.
1. The teen will be automatically placed in a probationary situation to determine their commitment to success in our school. Failure to adapt to the individualized system and/or submit to the rules of the school will result in suspension.
2. Teenage students are not only expected to conduct themselves in a godly manner at school, but also away from school. Just as the test of a person’s character is when he is alone, so is the test of whether a student or young person is really interested in the disciplined life of the Christian. At the beginning of each year, all teenagers must sign a “pledge to a code of ethics”. This challenges the teen to live a Christ centered life 24 hours a day. Those who demonstrate unwillingness to do so jeopardize their enrollment in ACS.
